I think i figured out what the "musical differences" which is pretty broad term when used in music, and it has to due with how PJ got super famous, which did not happen overnight by a long shot, it was during the filming of the movie "Singles" when PJ recorded tracks and put out the Single "Jeremy" they also wrote Yellow Ledbetter, they also released singles with Dave playing, they didn't get major traction until they made the video "Jeremy" The song gained popularity for its music video ,which the record labeled had paid MTV a large sum of money to put it into there "heavy rotation" I think they fired him over the money they made off those singles, or Dave wanted his share, which he deserved .
